Below are stories which are still available for purchase, but which have been culled from "current collection" status due to age and author growth. ;-)
At Last, I Know: The early days. Jeanette deals with her mother's terrible attitude regarding Nelson while simultaneously trying to get him to make the next move in their relationship. This story includes an aggressive sexual situation which should come as no surprise to anyone who has read Sweethearts, and it explores how and why things may have happened as they did. $9
Teach Me Tonight : We all know the basic course of events that lead to the consummation of Jeanette and Nelson's relationship. Nelson's colossal loss of temper and Jeanette's first ever loss of control... so what happened the next week, when they saw each other again? How were things left between them that night and where do they go from there? (This tale is literally about the development of their sexual relationship, just be aware. This is probably the closest thing to pure erotica that will ever be published here.) $9
Vivrà ! Contende il Giubilo: This takes place in 1935, and concerns Nelson and Jeanette practicing together (and Nelson encouraging Jeanette in opera) as inspired by the final Madeline presentation. They are very beautiful and very, very sexy. It was a positive joy to write a lighthearted and upbeat story at a very UNCOMPLICATED part of their lives, when everything was possible. If only it had stayed that way. $7
Indiscreet: A short, hot vignette based on Nelson's remarks that "you should have seen what really happened under that tree!" and "this time she seduced me!" in reference to the Will You Remember set of Maytime. Strong, strong adult content (do NOT say you weren't warned!) and only the barest framework of plot, but oh, what a night. $5
A Sunday Kind of Love: A Nelson POV story, set in April and June of 1938. Everyone reading this catalog should know what that means. :) A gentler story, this one is very mild on the adult content scale. $8
To Tell Him I'm His Own: The New Moon reconciliation. Deep, exploratory, angsty and sexual. $8
Danse Macabre: Tensions are high during the filming of Bitter Sweet. $7
If Love Were All: A film noir-esque rendezvous during the filming of Bitter Sweet, told in Jeanette's voice. A little scary, a little sexy, a little surprising. $8
My Hero: During the filming of Smilin' Through and The Chocolate Soldier, our Sweethearts are getting a rare stretch of domestic happiness, but what happens when Rise Stevens attempts to put the moves on our baritone? Heh heh heh. $7
Spring is Here: A look at the filming of I Married an Angel, in which Jeanette challenges what has become their status quo. A mild tale, rated "PG" for a bit of language. $7
Come Slowly, Eden: Named after the Emily Dickinson poem, this story came about as a writer's exercise to see if I could attempt to capture Jeanette's voice if I wrote her in first person. It was meant to be a vignette, but it grew to over five thousand words in just thirty-six hours! Set during the filming of I Married an Angel, this piece concerns leaving the studio early one afternoon to embark on a weekend at Mists with Nelson. I think it has just become one of my favorites. $8
By the Sea: More vignette than short story, this glimpse into a weekend in 1943 is brought to you by the author's recent visit to Isabel's beach house and Paradise Cove. $5
But Not For Me: A benefit broadcast for the Children's Home Finding society spawns a frank, emotional conversation in 1943 about babies and marriage and plans. No adult content, but there is some language. $8
Douce Flamme: Jeanette gets ready to leave for New York where she will finish preparing the role of Juliette for her grand opera debut. Nelson has a surprise for her. Based on an event briefly mentioned in one of the Madeline Bayless lectures, this is a lighter, happier, sexy story. Nelson's a good boyfriend. $7
Just a Little Love, a Little Kiss: The highs and lows of secret meetings while our Sweethearts are out on their concert tours. Loosely based on the 1940-1941 tours, though some cities and data have been changed for the sake of the story. (For the real dope on what happened, check out this post on my blog.) While romantic with some definite bittersweet moments, this is also a very sexy story. $8
Vive L'Amour: The 25th Anniversary Party of Mr. and Mrs. Lauritz Melchior -- a lengthy, sexy romp told in alternating Jeanette and Nelson POV. $10
Unchained Melody: A look at a different kind of reconciliation from the period of estrangement from 1950-1952. Though the beginning is based in fact, this gives them a fictional reconciliation before This is Your Life. Strong adult content in this one, more thematic than sexual (though that's there, too), as this takes a harsh look at the most unpleasant side of the Mac-Raymond marriage, as well as Nelson's activities during the period of separation. There is also strong language. Many thanks to Sharon for her counsel in handling a very tough situation which felt like it needed to be explored. $8
Kiss Me Goodbye: December 18, 1952. With the This is Your Life appearance several weeks behind them, Jeanette is on the cusp of returning to New York to appear on What's My Line, The Name's the Same, and in concert at Carnegie Hall. Unrelated to any other story, this is another "take" on this reconciliation, coming on the heels of more than two years of estrangement. $7
Viva Las Vegas: Jeanette is performing at the Sahara, where Nelson is booked several weeks later. This is a look into the argument(s) they had about nightclub work, and why, ultimately, they never worked together in that medium. Don't worry, they make up. Of course they make up. Even if they don't solve anything. ;) $9
Night and Day: A moment in 1954. Tension between the Sweethearts and the subsequent release of that tension. This tale was inspired by the author's recent dinner at Miceli's Hollywood, the first pizzeria (among other Italian deliciousness) in LA, family owned since 1949. The original proprietor was interviewed about his memories of Jeanette and Nelson eating together there. It is a most magical place and simply begged to be the setting of something scintillatingly romantic and scandalously sexy. Sigh. $8
Sabre Dance: A he-said/she-said, point-of-view-switching merger, based on two true anecdotes, set in 1955 in New York. This one, naturally, has adult content, but also comes with a warning about strong language. $8
Something Wonderful: August, 1956, Kansas City: Nelson surprises Jeanette at her opening night of The King and I. In addition to examining the state of their relationship at this time, this story also delves into Jeanette's friendship with a child named Peggy Seo who was in the cast. $8
The More I See You: September, 1957. Our Sweethearts rendezvous in New York, preparing to perform on The Big Record. Afterward, it's decision time. Can they withstand another long separation? $7
True Love: Divorce discussion in 1957 leads to some vulnerable truths for our Sweethearts. $7
Something Good : In January, 1960, Jeanette has x-rays done that show a decline in the condition of her heart. The news is grim enough that she is motivated to chart a new course with Nelson about their future and lay some old demons to rest. $10
Be Careful, It's My Heart: 1963. Jeanette deals with her move into the Wilshire Comstock apartment complex, which is made significantly more pleasant by Nelson's taking of an apartment in the same complex. She has the heart surgery that she so desperately needed, before it's too late, with the right people surrounding and supporting her. It's the story we all want to have been true. $9
Begin Again: On February 26, 1963, a year of poor health and transition from Twin Gables to her apartment at the Wilshire Comstock, Jeanette wrote "VISITOR!!" in her desk diary and canceled her appointments for the rest of the day. That was the inspiration for this tale. $8
The Lamp is Low : A 1964 meditation from Jeanette's POV. $8
Stardust: The end. Poignant and sad, but written with love, respect and the understanding that, no matter how dire her circumstances, Jeanette was not a victim. A minor sexual situation is referenced in flashback, but otherwise this is not that kind of story, at all. $7
Out of the Night: Nelson's journey from 1965-1967, made bearable by the fact that Jeanette never truly left his side. Inspired by the deeply spiritual nature of their relationship and based on a few comments that Nelson made at the time. Minor innuendo, but no real "adult" content in this one. $7
